Acknowledgments.

10. My acknowledgments are due to Major C. J. Lodge
Patch, M.C., I.M.S., the Medical Superin-
tendent, who discharged his difficult duties with
zeal and energy throughout the year : he is unceas-
ing in his efforts to bring the treatment of his mental patients
up to the high standards which now prevail in Great Britain
and America. He was ably assisted by the other members of the
staff. The Matron and Assistant Matron are Franciscan
Sisters ; they have discharged their very difficult duties with
great zeal and in a most conscientious manner throughout
the year.
