from the persons of patients and utilized for their main-
tenance charges. Arrangements will be made for an
amendment of the form in future.

5.    It is gratifying to note that during the year 157
patients were discharged cured and 82 improved. This
argues the success of the efforts, described in the last
triennial report, to distract the attention of the patients
and work and amusement; and the extra profits from
garden work and manufactures are from this point of
view doubly satisfactory.

6.    The thanks of the Punjab Government (Ministry
of Education) are once more due to Major Lodge-Patch,
I. M. S., who was in charge throughout the year, and
to the staff under him. During the year the Deputy
Medical Superintendent, Dr. R. S. Sharma, was
still absent on study leave. On his return the hospital
should benefit from the presence of a second trained
alienist.

ORDER.—Ordered that a copy of the report and of
the review be forwarded to the Government of India,
Home Department, for information, also that the review
be published in the Punjab Gazette.

Ordered also that a copy of the review be for-
warded to the Inspector-General of Civil Hospitals,
Punjab, for information.
