The above statement shows briefly the working for the year; the figures for
1878-79 are placed beside it for purposes of easy comparison. There was one
admission more this year, the numbers remained and total treated being less. The
numbers cured show a decrease of one. The death-rate has happily very much
diminished.

The buildings are in fair repair. The several recommendations suggested
and "sanctioned" still remain in nubibus, the scarcity of water in the hot
months (as now) being a great and crying want.

There were 20 admissions during the year, 17 males and 3 females; of the
males 3 were criminal lunatics.

Discharged.—Twelve, viz., 10 males and 2 females, all civil lunatics.

and residence in the asylum of the discharged cured:—
