6. The general health of the inmates has been good. The new scale of diet
ordered by the Surgeon-General continues to succeed admirably, as I have rarely
to prescribe extras.
The subjoined table will show the name, age, occupation, &c., of the fourteen
criminal lunatics remained on the 31st March 1883 :—

The daily sick in hospital was 2.66 which requires no comment.
The patients, as a rule, gain in weight. Of the 86 remaining at the end of
the year, 72 have gained in weight, 5 in statu quo, and 9 lost in weight.
