Practically, all the Asylum inmates receive a ration of milk, morning and
evening, in addition to their ordinary diet, and all except a very few take it gladly.
STATEMENT NOS. IX, X AND XI.
The total amount received from the Treasury was Rs. 13,411-11-7 against
Rs.10,166-3-10 drawn in 1896. The excess is to some extent attributable to the
higher prices which ruled for grain during the year, and also partly on account of
compensation paid to the establishment.
From paying patients the amount received amounted to Rs.2,995-3-3. This
was made up of Rs.2,610 adjusted by the Comptroller, Central Provinces, for an
average of 29 Berar lunatics at Rs.90 a head and Rs.385-3-3 actual cash receipt
from paying patients.
