28.    During the year under report, only 1 case of influenza occurred, as
compared with 129 cases in the previous year, and there were only 11 admissions
from malarial fever, as compared with 28 in the previous year.

The lesser prevalence of malarial fever was due, in all probability, to the
very scanty rainfall of the year (in all 22.09 inches).

No fever prophylactics were issued.

31.    Of the 11 deaths that occurred during the year, 4 occurred in February,
1 in March, 2 in April, 1 in June, 2 in August and 1 in September.

                                      STATEMENT IX.

32.    The total amount received from the Treasury was Rs.13,871-15-2,
against Rs.12,124-1-5 drawn in 1898.

The increase was due to the expenditure in connection with the Dairy Farm,
referred to hereafter.
