NOTE.—Observation cases are excluded from this statement.
(a) In column 17 remaining on 31st December 1931, 23 males and 3 females were shown. Please read this figure as 21 males and 2 females
as out of these 2 male patients and 1 female patient who were returned as not yet diagnosed have been since diagnosed and returned
         under column 3 " sub-head mania old age " column 4, sub-head " melancholia other form " and column 16 " dementia praecox "
and the number there has been increased by 1 female and 2 males respectively, thus the figure now stands as 11 males and 6 females,
61 males and 7 females and 25 males and 8 females under the abovementioned columns.
(b) Two male patients who were recovered but being criminal insanes have not yet been discharged as their cases are governed by
principles laid down in part V-1, Appendix II of Book Circulars. They have been included in column 17 remaining on 31st Dec-
ember 1932 and deducted from their disease column and this explains the apparent discrepancy under column "mania other
form", melancholia other form " and column 17.
