The following changes were made by the revision of the establishment of the
Tezpur Lunatic Asylum in 1907 :—

The pay of the compounder was raised from Rs. 12—1—15 to Rs. 15—1—20 ; that
of the jamadar was reduced from Rs. 15—1—20 to Rs. 12—1—15; that of
keepers was raised from Rs. 10 to Rs. 10—1—12 ; six temporary keepers
were taken into the permanent list; and one additional temporary male
keeper was sanctioned.

Manufactures yielded a profit of Rs. 3,051-11-7, against Rs. 5,338-6. There was
a small decrease in profits at the Dacca Asylum, from Rs. 2,837-11-9 in 1906 to
Rs. 1,991-13-1 in 1907, which is attributed to a fall in the dairy produce.

         6. There was overcrowding in the Asylum at Dacca throughout the year, which

was relieved to some extent by the removal of suitable
cases to the new tubercle ward.

The Tezpur Asylum was also overcrowded, and Government has sanctioned
Rs. 8,000 for an additional pucca-walled iron-roofed barrack.
