On the 12th July in an accession he suddenly became comatose and died. Slight sub-arachnoid effu- sion was found. The spleen was much enlarged. The right side of the heart was full of fibrinous clots. Liver of a bright yellow colour.

The jejunum was healthy, so was the mucous membrane of the whole large intestines.

He was a patient in hospital almost the whole time he was in the asylum. He had dysentery, phthisis, and great anæmia. The immediate cause of death was apoplexy. At the base of the brain a clot weighing 5 oz. was found. Lungs full of tubercular deposit. Large intestines ulcerated throughout.
