This woman, aged at least 65,was sent a journey of 17
days and arrived here to die. The dying state in which
she reached was brought to the notice of the Deputy
Inspector-General, but on a reference to Durrung it was
ascertained that she was a homeless beggar and the
Civil Surgeon certified that she was in a fit state to
travel when she left the station.
The right lung was found emphysematous and the
bronchial tubes were filled with thick tenacious mucus.
The base of left lung was in first stage of pneumonia.
