was performed, and she wore a tube permanently.
About three months before she died, tubercular disease
of the lungs was detected.

He was sent to hospital the day of his admission, and
he remained a patient till he died. On arrival he had
diarrhœa, and a fortnight afterwards double pneumo-
nia attacked him.
The brain was generally soft. The right lung was hepa-
tised. The left, at apex, was in a less advanced stage
of pneumonia. Throughout the large intestines, irre-
gular patches of ulceration, and of extensive conges-
tion, were found.

This man's health broke down at the beginning of the
cold weather. The brain was anæmic, and beneath
the arachnoid there was a great effusion of serum.
Both lungs were completely disorganised, being infil-
trated with large tubercular masses undergoing sup-
purative changes.

He was in wretched health on admission, and remained
the whole of the time in hospital. He died in an
epileptic fit. Was previously much reduced by dysen-
tery.
The membranes could not be separated from the bone.
In the left lung a few tubercular masses, still crude,
were found. In colon were numerous cicatrizing
ulcers; and in rectum there were large sloughing
ones.
