         18.  Audit notes.—The auditing of asylum accounts during the three years
proved satisfactory. There were only two minor objections during 1905 and certain
bills outstanding at the date of audit. There were no discrepancies or omissions
detected during 1903 and 1904.

         19.   Concluding remarks.—Major Bell, I.M.S., was in charge of the asylum
throughout the year. Assistant Surgeon Philip, the permanent Deputy Superin-
tendent, was on sick leave during the whole of 1905. Senior Grade Hospital
Assistant S. Paul therefore continued to hold post of Officiating Deputy Superin-
tendent.
