SIR,

I HAVE the honour to submit, for the information of the Hon'ble the
Chief Commissioner, the prescribed annual Vaccination statements for the year
1912-13 with the following remarks.

Administration.

2. As Chief Medical Officer, North-West Frontier Province, the
charge of the Vaccination Department
was held by me throughout the year.
Statement No I.—Strength of the Department.

3. The establishment employed during the year was as follows :—Two
Divisional Inspectors, six Superintend-
ents and 37 Vaccinators. Since previous
year there is an increase of one Vaccinator, one new appointment having been
sanctioned for the Malakand Agency.

Statement No. I —Total number of vaccinations per-
formed by all establishments.

4. The total number of vaccina-
tions performed during the year was
152,740, an increase of 18,938 since the
year 1911-12.

Of this total, 125,109 were primary operations and 27,631 re-vaccinations.
The increase in re-vaccinations is small, only 6,40S as compared with an increase
of over 13,000 in the previous year.

The total number of persons vaccinated was 151,079, an increase of
18,127.

Average number of persons vaccinated by each
vaccinator.

5. The average number of per-
sons vaccinated by each vaccinator was
3967 71.

Again the Bannu District Vaccinators are at the top of the list with an
average of 6,535 per vaccinator, the Peshawar and Kohat Vaccinators taking
second and third place with an average of 5,399 and 4,014 respectively.

There has been an increase in the work under every heading in each
district, the least marked being in the number of re-vaccinations.

Vaccination according to ages.

6. The number of primary successful vaccinations performed in the
settled districts on children under one
year of age was 68,932 and 28,726 on
children between one and 6 years of age. These two totals represent 78 per
cent. of the total primary vaccinations. The increase over previous year is
10,000 and 1,000 respectively.
