FEMALE HOSPITAL AND DAI CLASS.

133.   Ajmer.—There was no qualified Female Sub-Assistant Surgeon
attached to the medical charge of the female wards of the Victoria Hospital,
Ajmer, for want of funds. A Lady Doctor superintends the Mission
Hospital for women where many patients are treated.

134.   Beawar.—The work in the female wards of the Charitable Dispensary
has been carried on under female Sub-Assistant Surgeon Pandita Sunder Lali
throughout the year, 37 in and 9,537 out-patients were treated and 485 opera-
tions peformed in 1912. 4 cases of tedious labour were confined, 2 of which
were delivered by Podalic Version, 1 by forceps and one by Caesarian section.

135.  Native States.—The returns received from the Female Hospitals in the
Native States of Rajputana show on the whole a general increase both in-door
and out-door attendance: an evidence of the increasing popularity of the in-
structions as regards residential attendance and out-door visits.

136.  Jodhpur.—Miss B. Griffin, M.D., B.C.H., B.A.O. Dublin has been
in charge of the Jaswant Hospital for women at Jodhpur throughout the
year. There is a decrease in the in-door patients treated in the hospital due to
the healthiness of the year.

137.   Seventy-four operations were performed, against 92 in 1911.

138.   Udaipur.—The post of the Lady Superintendent of the Walter
Female Hospital at Udaipur was filled on the 8th December 1911, by the
appointment of Lady Doctor Miss T. Canagasaby, L.R.C.P.&S. (Edinburgh)
and L.F.P.S. (Glasgow), a Hindu Lady of Ceylon. 148 in and 3,039 out-door
patients were treated as compared with 84 in and 2,656 in the previous year.
This increase is due to the absence of plague in Udaipur City.

Bai went on leave and on expiry of the leave resigned her appointment on
account of ill health.

140.   On the 14th November 1912 the Hospital was honoured by a
visit from her Excellency Lady Hardinge.

(Glasgow) has been in charge of the Victoria Jubilee Hospital at Kotah
throughout the year. There was an increase in the total out-door attendance
which shows the popularity of the hospital.
