Jaipur. His services are invaluable.

82.  Third grade Sub-Assistant Surgeou Chhagan Nath is a very capable
and industrious assistant and deserves all credit for his good work.

83.  Fourth grade Sub-Assistant Surgeons Sarup Narain and Tula Ram
have also worked satisfactorily.

84.  The Residency Surgeon, Jaipur, states that Tuberculosis continued to
play the same role as before. Dr. Lankester on special duty with the Gov-
ernment of India for Tuberculosis enquiry visited Jaipur to make investiga-
tions about the epidemiology of Tuberculosis.

85.  There were in all 6,703 surgical operations done in Bharatpur State
institutions, of these 803 were extraction of lens for cataract, 5 Lithotomies,
11 Litholapaxies and 17 Amputations as compared with 669 extractions of lens
for cataract, 2 Lithotomies, 13 Litholapaxies and 16 Aumputations in 1913.

86.  The following special treatments were reported by the Agency Surgeon,
Eastern Rajputana States :—

Tuberculosis.

87. T. R. Solution was injected hypodermically in 28 cases in doses short of
re-action. It was mostly in the cases of surgical Tuberculosis that some
improvement was noticed.

Syphilis.

88. Seven cases of Syphilis were treated with Intra-muscular injections of
Salvarson "606" with success. A case of Locomotataxy also improved under
this treatment.

Dysentery Amœbic.

89. All the cases recovered with the Hypodermic injections of Emetine.

Malarial Enlargement of Spleen.

90. 14 cases were treated with Intra-muscular injections of soamin
(Sodium Para Amino phenylareonate), which had a marked effect in reducing
spleen in early stages. No appreciable improvements was noticed in those of
long duration.

Sprue.

91. One case of sprue was successfully treated with 9 hypodermic injec-
tions of Emetine gr. 1 given once a week.

Obstruction of bowels.

92. One case of obstruction of bowels was treated with hypodermic
injections of Piturtin and Emetine with success.

Financial Statements.

93.  Statement H shows the income and expenditure of the Govern-
ment Dispensaries and Hospitals and the expenditure on those in Native
States.

94.  The total income of Hospitals and Dispensaries in Ajmer-Merwara
was R22,640 against R24,158 in 1913 ; this decrease of R1,518 is partly due to
the fact that in 1913, certain arrears of contributions were received and in 1914
certain Indian subscribers have not yet paid their contributions. The value of
