49.  The Superintendent of Vaccination, Nasirabad Cantonment, examined
66 children against 165 in the previous year of whom 64 were found successful.

50.  The Indian , Superintendent of Vaccination, Ajmer-Merwara, inspected
269 towns and villages against 221 in 1925-26 and examined 5,081 vaccinated
children against 5,085 in the previous year.

51.   The following table shews the number of towns and villages inspected and

52.   The Indian Superintendent of Vaccination and other Inspecting Officers
in Indian States inspected 73,054 vaccinations against 89,111 in 1925-26. The
percentage of cases found successful among the total number seen in 1926-27 was
68.65 against 94.37 in the previous year.

53.  Lymph is maintained throughout the year in most of the States.

The Calf Lymph obtained during the year from Government Lymph Depôts
was satisfactory.

                                   Section II.—Dispensaries.

                                          STATEMENT A.

                                   Number of Dispensaries.

54. The number of Hospitals and Dispensaries at the close of the year 1925
was 179. During the year under Report two new Dispensaries known as Jantar
Dispensary at Jaipur and Itinerating Dispensary at Khetri were opened in the
Jaipur State and three new Dispensaries, viz., Padam, Kesrisinghpur and Raisingh-
nagar were opened in the Bikaner State.

The number at the close of the year was 184.
55. The Dispensaries are classed as under :—

56. Besides these there were six Mission Hospitals and Dispensaries and one
Hospital and twelve Dispensaries including two small branches at the Carriage and
Loco Shops of the Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway within the limits of
Rajputana in the beginning and at the close of the year.

Improvements and additions to Hospitals and
Dispensaries.

57. Jaipur.—A sum of Rs. 18,719 was
spent in affecting improvements and addi-
tions to the buildings of the Mayo Hospital.
The X-Ray buildings were built for Rs. 4,000 and a new Machinery for X-Ray
work was purchased for Rs. 8,500.
