                                                 Scurvy.

68. Seven hundred and eighteen cases of Scurvy were treated in 1926 against
454 in 1925 and 519 in 1924. Of these 245 were in Bikaner, 164 in Alwar, 123 in
Mewar, 64 in Marwar, 61 in Jaipur, 26 in Kotah and 10 in Kishangarh.

                                                 Leprosy.

69.  Five hundred and twenty-one Lepers received treatment (of these 245 in
Jaipur) against 393 in 1925 and 494 in 1924.

                                   Tubercular Diseases.

70.  2,585 cases of Tubercle of the Lung and 2,674 of other Tubercular diseases
were treated during the year under report against 1,637 and 1,630 in the preceding
year.

                                          Snake bite.

71.  Anti-venine is kept in stock in most of the main Dispensaries and used for
the treatment of snake poisoning when opportunity offers. Dungarpur is infested
with snakes mostly of venomous variety. Cases of snake bite are frequently report-
ed at the close of the summer and during the rainy season. Anti-venomous injec-
tions are given in such cases at the Vijaya Hospital intravenously. During the year
under report 27 such cases were reported and treated at that Hospital with no death.

                                          Statement F.

72.  This statement shews the classes and sexes of both in- and out-door patients
treated in the Dispensaries of Ajmer-Merwara, and Indian States in Rajputana.
It is merely introduced for statistical purposes and calls for no comments.

                                          Statement G.

73.  The number of Surgical Operations performed during the year in Ajmer-
Merwara and in Indian States was 104,035 against 101,666 in 1925 shewing an
increase of 2,369.

The number of patients operated on was 103,892 against 101,517, the number
cured 103,104 against 100,625, the number relieved 591, discharged otherwise
179 and died 98 as compared with 535,189 and 101 respectively in 1925 while 181
remained under treatment at the close of the year.

74.  Of the Operations performed 1,667 were Extractions of the lens for Cata-
ract, of which 1,598 were reported successful, 14 Lithotomies, 207 Litholapaxies
and 310 Amputations against 1,259, 24,186 and 305 respectively in 1925.
