The return of the number of cases vaccinated this year compares favorably with the return
of the preceding year. It will be seen that 274 more cases have been operated upon during
the year ; the per-centage of success, however, is not so great, but the difference is not very
marked.

The total number vaccinated during the year 1864 was 238, being an increase of 76 on
that of the previous year. Of these 111 were male and 127 female children. 73 were
under one year, and 165 above that age. The successful vaccinations have been 227, or 95.3
per cent. on the total number vaccinated. The lymph and vesicles were good.
