I have much pleasure in being able again to report an increase of ninety in the
number of vaccinations during the past year. The percentage of successful, however,
is slightly less. The Municipality's Vaccinator has effected an increased number of
vaccinations this year, as compared with the year 1867, viz. 808, as compared with 735
during the year preceding. The number of operations returned by the Civil Surgeon's
Vaccinator is 903 in the city, being an increase of 112 over last year's return,
and, although there has been a slight decrease in the number of vaccinations
effected, within cantonment, yet the operations exceed by seventeen the return for the
year 1867.

The annual return of persons vaccinated at the Civil Hospital Ahmednuggur, shows
a slight increase over last year, viz. 130 to 126 of the year preceding. No cases of
small-pox were admitted into the Civil Hospital during the year.

There were only 25 persons vaccinated in the Police Hospital during the year, as
contrasted with 63 of the year preceding, but not a single case of small-pox occurred
