The results in re-vaccination ranged from 51.3 in the Wun district to 31.1
in Amraoti, the average for the provinces being 36.3 as compared with 39.3 and
83.6 respectively in the two previous years. The high percentage shown
against Wun is calculated on only 39 cases, too small a number on which to
work an average.

The rtaios returned for the other districts are more uniform and are appa-
rently more reliable than in previous years.

Results of works in Berar and other
provinces compared.

15. The following table compares some of the results of the work per-
formed by the special vaccination and dispensary
establishments in Berar with that of other pro-
vinces in India.

Comparing Berar with the Central Provinces, it will be seen that, though
the proportion of population protected is less by 61, yet the mean death-rate
of small-pox is also less, the rate for Berar being .28 as gainst .43 in the Central
Provinces.
