The Assistant to the Civil Surgeon was 42 days on tour, visited 263 villages
and examined 3,337 vaccinated children.

The Native Superintendent was on tour 149 days, visited 427 villages and
examined 7,420 vaccinated children.

The Civil Surgeon and his Assistant lay stress on the almost more than
passive resistance of many of the Malguzars and village officials. About 4,000
children who should have been vaccinated were left unprotected.

The Civil Surgeon suggests that each Vaccinator should be furnished with
copies of a printed purwana signed by the Deputy Commissioner, setting forth
clearly the duties of Malguzars in this matter and under what rules, and explain-
ing that non-compliance will not be permitted.

The only dispensary at which vaccination is carried on by the Hospital
Assistant is that at Khappa. This restriction has not decreased the total work
(by Hospital Assistants and Vaccinators together) in the district.
