46. In paragraph 2 of Government of India letter No. 3460, dated the
28th December 1899, attention was drawn to the discrepancy between the
percentages of success reported by Vaccinators and those verified by superior
Inspecting Officers in the returns for 1898-99, the district of Mandla being quoted
as the most glaring example. During the season under report, the inconsis-
tencies noted have not been so great, and Mandla has retrieved its reputation in
this respect.
