No. 7384.

FROM

               F. S. A. SLOCOCK, ESQ., I. C. S.,

SECOND SECRETARY TO THE CHIEF COMMISSIONER,

                                                                                                   Central Provinces,

To

THE SECRETARY TO THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA,

                                                                                                   HOME DEPARTMENT.

                                                                                                  Nagpur, the 1st July 1904.

*With one spare Copy.

SIR,

I am directed to submit herewith a copy* of the annual notes on
vaccination in the Central Provinces and Berar for the
season 1903-04, and to say that the work of the year
will be reviewed in due course when the triennial report for the years ending
with 1905 comes to be dealt with.

2.    The statements have been prepared in the prescribed forms, except
column 6 of statement I, which has not the sub-columns prescribed in the
revised form received with Mr. Marris' letter No. 1605, dated the 30th October
1903, and the Administrative Medical Officer's attention has been irawn to this
mistake. The report does not give any reason to account for the netraordinarily
high percentage of success claimed in re-vaccination in the Central Provinces,
and specially in the Feudatory States as compared with the much lower per-
centage in Berar, but the Administrative Medical Officer has promised to give
the subject his attention.

3.    As explained in paragraph 24 of the notes, the necessity for referring
for the first time in some detail to Berar statistics has caused the notes to
exceed the prescribed limit of three pages.

I have the honour to be,

                                                                   Sir,

                                                      Your most obedien Servant,

                                                                      F. S. A. SLOCOCK,

                                                                                Second Secretary.
