SIR,

LAST year I submitted, in accordance with the orders of the Govern-
ment of India, No. 28-1579—95, dated the 15th July 1887, a triennial report on
the working of the Vaccination Department in Bengal during the years 1887-88,
1888-89, and 1889-90. I have the honour now, in accordance with the same
orders, to submit the following brief notes, with statistical returns of vaccination,
for the year 1890-91, and to explain that the delay in doing so is due to the
non-receipt, till after the 15th ultimo, of the necessary statistics from several
municipalities without which the annual statements appended to this report
could not be closed.
