The District Inspector of Vaccination in-
spected the factory and found only six
children unprotected. On enquiry it was
ascertained that these six children were
in bad health, and therefore could not be
vaccinated, though the vaccinator of the
elaka visited the place thrice.
With very few exceptions the factory
people live in the surrounding villages
and their children are vaccinated in
these villages in the ordinary way.

There has been a great opposition to vacci-
nation here, the people hide their
children whenever they see the vaccina-
tor approaching. Their prejudice is
being gradually overcome.
